Hello, it’s a pleasure to meet you! I’m Meera Mehta, a Speech and language therapist with over 10 years of experience working in both the UK and Kenya. I’d like to share a bit about my journey. Born and raised in Nairobi, Kenya, my roots have always been a significant part of my identity. When I moved to the UK to study Speech and Language Therapy at the University of Sheffield, I was driven by a desire to make a meaningful impact—not just in my own life but in the lives of children and families seeking support with communication.

We have known Meera for around 3 years and have availed her speech and language therapy services for our 6-year-old daughter. My daughter has severe learning disability from being born extremely premature. We have seen several speech and language therapists in the past but they have not had complete knowledge on how to strengthen her oral muscles. We were then recommended to come and see Meera. Meera was able to connect straight away with our daughter and built a very close rapport with her. This is very important if you want a child to take on board what is being asked of them and to carry out any excercises. We were given excercises to do and have seen an improvement in the clarity of our daughters speech. Our daughter has a long way to go as needs input from other specialists but these sessions with Meera have been very useful.
We had the pleasure of welcoming Meera from Speech and Language Techniques to our nursery, Blue Butterfly, for a fantastic workshop.
